What are Extrasolar planets made of? Molecular line lists for hot atmospheres.

We now know that exoplanets are common: essentially every star appears to have planets. But we have very little idea what these planets are like. The talk will discuss the current status attempts to characterise the atmospheric composition of exoplanets and future prospects for this activity plus efforts by my group to provide the rather extensive laboratory data required to model exoplanets and interpret their signatures.
