Viatcheslav Mukhanov (LMU) "The Quantum Universe"

I will discuss the robust predictions of the theory for the quantum origins of structure in the Universe. At its conception, 40 years ago, each of these predictions were in conflict with available astronomical data. However, subsequent revolutionary developments in precision measurements of temperature fluctuations of the Cosmic Microwave Background radiation, made during last 30 years, have confirmed these predictions beyond any reasonable doubt. This confirmation, in turn, allows us to draw firm conclusions about the origin of our universe and the role of quantum physics in explaining the origin of galaxies and their clusters
