Stella says, “My job title is Research Scientist. Elekta is a world-leading company in the field of radiotherapy. Thus, the ultimate aim of the company and therefore also of my work is to cure cancer. More specifically, I am involved in developing real-time radiotherapy treatment, to be delivered by Elekta’s (hopefully, soon-to-be-released) MR-Linac, where the goal is to be able to track the tumor movements in the body in real-time and then immediately adapt the radiotherapy treatment. I also work with improving treatment planning for the Leksell GammaKnife, which is a high-precision radiosurgical tool for treating tumors in the brain.”
