The Holographic Flow Equation Approach was introduced in arxiv/1703.03925 and provides a new method for quantifying the
entanglement of quantum many-body systems. In this talk the method will be motivated and benchmarking results for the transverse field Ising model are shown. The talk will focus on conceptual background and in this way introduce Flow Equations, Rényi entropy based entanglement measures and the area law of 1D fermionic systems. The transverse field Ising model consist of two subsystems which are coupled via weak links (interface defect). To benchmark the method, different sizes of the subsystems as well as different values of the weak link are considered.
